Two more years of The Simpsons

The Simpsons will run for at least another two years after bosses at Fox, the American TV network, opted to extend its screen life.

The hit animated series is already the longest running entertainment primetime series on TV and today's announcement has ensured its dominance will only continue.

Matt Groening's creation will run through to 2008 as a result and will see its 400th episode drawn up.

Rival comic series King Of The Hill has also been granted an extended lease of life and is now set to return for its 11th season in January next year.

Meanwhile, millionaire hotel heiress Paris Hilton is said to have accepted an invite to voice a character in The Simpsons.

Reports claim Groening and co-developer James L Brooks agreed on the sexy inadvertent home movie star last week.

She is said to be in line to play the comically inappropriate role of Mother Teresa."
