Two Birds One Stone

Well I had a great day out yesterday.

Killed 2 birds with one stone by having a good long cycle to Falkland Palace.

Falkland is about 10 miles away if you take the motorway but as I was on the bike it's a little further.

Did a total of 27.1 miles on the gps but I forgot to put the thing on for the way back only noticed after about a mile.

The scenery was fantastic on the way, up and round the Lomond hills and down the valley to Fife and Falkland.

Moving average was 11.4 mph with a top speed of 29.7 mph lots of steep hills and big climbs yesterday.

Really felt the burn on the way back for the first 2 or 3 miles.

The Palace is fantastic part in ruin and a good bit refurbed and still lived in.

The gardens were fantastic just the way a palace gardens should look.

Took loads of pics and spent a few hours in the garden then went into Falkland village for a walk and lunch.

MMMMMM lunch was great was a little naughty though, pub lunch had bacon and sweet chilli burger with chips and salad, and a nice pint of St. Andrews Smooth Ale which was tasty too.

After that a walk round the village and then home.

Great day out certainly knocked me out at the end of the day.

Slept like a log.
