Big Country Wonderland

Took this at the gig on Saturday Hope you enjoy it.

Apologies for the jumping about in the middle but hey it couldn't be helped.

Frog

A frog goes into a bank and approaches the teller. He can see from her nameplate that her name is Patricia Whack.

"Miss Whack, I'd like to get a £10,000 loan to take a holiday."

Patty looks at the frog in disbelief and asks his name. The frog says his name is Kermit Jagger, his dad is Mick Jagger, and that it's okay, he knows the bank manager.

Patty explains that he will need to secure the loan with some collateral.

The frog says, "Sure. I have this," and produces a tiny porcelain elephant, about an inch tall, bright pink and perfectly formed.

Very confused, Patty explains that she'll have to consult with the bank manager and disappears into a back office.

She finds the manager and says, "There's a frog called Kermit Jagger out there who claims to know you and wants to borrow £10,000, and he wants to use this as collateral."

She holds up the tiny pink elephant. "I mean, what in the world is this?"

(you're gonna love this)

(its a real treat)

(a masterpiece)

(wait for it.................)

The bank manager looks back at her and says...

"It's a knickknack, Patty Whack. Give the frog a loan. His old man's a Rolling Stone."

(You're singing it, aren't you? Yeah, I know you are........)

Never take life too seriously! Come on now, you grinned, I know you did!!!
Have a great day !!

Magnum News

Today Bob Catley has confirmed that they will be recording their Wings Of Heaven album live on tour for the 20th anniversary.
Guess who will be at that one then lol.

Big Country Pt2

Well good morning I had a great night last night with a slip back to the past going to see Big Country, and I have to say wow bloody fantastic.
Although they were missing Stuart Adamson they put on a fantastic show with classic songs and Songs from a new album.
If they are playing in your area soon go see them you wont be dissappointed believe me.
I saw them once before many moons ago on Princes Street Gardens at the Hogmany celebrations and they were great then.
Might take a blast down memory lane later and dust off the vynal and pull out Steel Town for a listen.

Car Accident

On wednesday my dad was in a car crash. Dont panic he wasn't too badly hurt just a few scratches.
He had a fight with a Jcb.
As he was overtaking it the driver decided to turn right and clipped my dads car throughing it up onto the roof and landing a 100 yards or so away.
The Car is a total right off and he was lucky to get out in one piece.

Night On The Town

While Elaine has benn away Jochan and I have been out for a drink or 3 round some of the rock bars (cough) in Aberdeen.
First was The Tilted Wig it has the coolest Jukebox an online streaming one.
You can find almost any band on it as it trawls the web for music it is however a little expensive at 3 songs for £2 still we managed to put Magnum on so it's not all bad.
Next was the Moorings who had live music on.
Fists we saw and heard Flameboy and to be honest someone should have set him on fire as the sounds of his flesh sizzling and him screaming would have been better than his music, he was billed as one of the top local acts for Aberdeen and if thats anything to go by then there is no music scene in Aberdeen
We saw another band for about 2 songs but I can't remember their name however that's of no matter cause they were crap too.
Finally The Basement.
Well what can I say walked in the door to the sounds of Rage against the Machine and I'm thinking cool some decent music at last I see the "Rock DJ" (coughs) so I decide lets have a few tunes " have you any Dream theatre" No was the reply "ok any Deep Purple" again no was the reply but you might get that up in the club upstairs.
Ok so I sits meself down to think lewt get a little more modern then.
how about some Edguy or Dragonforce, nope nine inch nails nope
Hundred reasons, yeah we can do that. AHhhh me thinks we are in.
Then all the Dance shit starts OMG.
Jochan tells me they had a classic Rock night a few weeks back and he went up to request some classics like ufo and deep purple and the Dj said sorry he didnt have any of their stuff it was a classic rock night and then played Audioslave lol.
Hmmmm all in all though it was a good night not been out on the razz for ages so that was good and I'm sure next time I go out the tunes will be better even if we just sit in the tilted wig and fill the jukebox with tons of cash and decent tunes.

This Might Be a silly Question but...........

Why do websites advertise Most or best downloaded files?
Example. Itunes top downloads this week include Jay. Z and Maroon 5
Ok so these bands will already be getting air play galore on radio tv etc.
Do these bands need even more publicity?
Where is the worst downloaded lists.
The poor buggers who really need it.
I want to see more least downloaded tracks.
The Most wanted is the usual pish that little girls download cause they dont know any better.
How can they diversify their music tastes if they don't know anything other that crap like, The Fast Food rockers The Scissor Sisters.
Let's see it now.
Worst Downloaded Tracks.

Jeckyl

Has anybody been watching Jeckyl staring James Nesbit on BBC1 .......... "OHHH Daddy "
Such a great peice of fiction can't wait for the next episode.
James Nesbit as always brilliant acting. Won't spoilt it for any one who hasn't seen it but if you like a little Horror Drama type thing it might be right up your street go download and watch .
Superb!!!!

Emotional Week

Well it's been a very emotional week all round first the Daina Concert can't say I miss her exactly and I can't stand P Diddy ( does he know what a diddy is in the U.k.)but when I heard that song "missing you I just wept" It made me think about my Granny again something I haven't done in a while.
This week We have had Stewarts Leavers sservice and today was his last day as a Primary school child. Big school after the summer, so the last few days have been very teary both Elaine and Stewart but as we told him he will see his pals again even though they are going on to different schools.

Cats Away

Elaine's gone to look after her pal for a few days.
I'm all by myself but hey I got the whole flat to my elf.
So its on with the telly off with the pants lol

Tv

Now that I don't have Sky I have to say I really don't know what good is happening in sci-fi on telly.
I hanven't been watching much tv anyway one or to programmes per week maybe, so I thought I would put out a shout and see what everyone else is watching while tv is a little quite.
All my faves are off air at the moment Battlestar Galactica, Medium, Lost, Scrubs, Doctor Who and the 4400.
Anyone got any good shows they think I should watch.

Dr Who

I have to say that this seasons Doctor who has been the best so far I do think David Tennant is fast becoming my favourite Doctor.
Good to see the return and demise of the Master or is it ?
Can't wait now for the Christmas special only 6 months to wait.

The Rematch

The Other night we had a rematch with the kids v adults for a bit of fun.
Good to feel that my legs aren't as sore as they were last time phewwwww.
I managed to score 2 this time and Stewart got 1 but his dad saved a peace of a shot that Stewart blasted at him.

New Wedding Crazes
