Guitar

Felt good just to pick up the guitar tonight and just play for an hour.
Haven't done that in a age, or so it seems.
Felt good to hold the Les Paul in my hands.
Squeeze the strings and feel the first chord and vibrate through my hand and body.
Played like I had never put the guitar down.
Even though I haven't touched it in months.
More is needed I guess.

Italian Time

Very Funny Little Clip Enjoy!

Celeb Look Alike

Got this Pic sent to me By Annie.
Which is Vince and which is Dave you decide lol.

Sleep The Dead

I have just slept the Sleep of the Dead.
Went to bed last night pretty early about 10ish (early for me anyway).
I Woke up about half past 2 this after noon.
Now I feel much better.
Not as bunged up as I have been no sore head no cough.
WOW!
Must have really been needing that.
I'm off tomorrow I wonder if I can have a repeat performance lol.

Saturday Gig

Went to see Tool on Saturday night much to Elaine's disappointment (sorry Dear).
I have to say mixed feelings about this one.
The show it's self was great, sound was fantastic (considering it was the S.e.c.c.).
Stage show was fantastic (cool visuals and light show).
The Support band Mastodon were OK.
The disappointment was Tool themselves.
Kyle and I discussed it after the gig and decided that they were playing for themselves rather than for the crowd which kind of killed their presence onstage.
They could have put a mix CD on of Tool and played it with the stage show and no one would have noticed I think.
Biggest upset of the night was the fact that the singer does not allow pictures to be taken at any of the gigs. Not even and official photographer there.
So about a minute into the first song Kyle is taken out by a bouncer another hall to have his camera removed.
I have to say that even though it was a good show this kind of spoiled it for me and every one else.
I have to say that if I had been given prior warning on the ticket I would not have taken the camera with me even.
But it shows just how arrogant some rock stars can be.
If you are in the public eye as these guys are then you have to be expected to be photographed.
Fans want to take pictures of their fave bands and so them to their mates.
Having a search light shone in your face while you watch the gig isn't going to leave a good impression.
It almost felt like standing by the fence at a concentration camp.
Sorry to say it Tool but I doubt I will ever go to see your shows again or for that matter buy any more cds.
I did the same to Green Day cause they wouldnt let Stv show any of the T-in the park footage of them. Some bands just think they are better than everyone else and that makes me a very unhappy Dave.
While at the Bob gigs a few weeks ago I asked Bob and Annie if I could use my slr at the gig to take shots and Bob said he didn't care the more the merrier as far as he was concerned.
Oh that reminds me I have a picture from Annie I must post.

Protest Against Bank Charges

Protest Rally & Christmas party - 1st December 2006 The Consumer Action Group in association with PenaltyCharges.co.uk, will be holding a peaceful Christmas themed protest against unfair and unlawful bank charges at 2pm on 1st December 2006 outside the Office of Fair Trading in London. Come in fancy dress - we suggest Bob Cratchett or Tiny Tim but you can dress up as Scrooge if you want to! Fancy dress will help to demonstrate to the Government just how serious the current situation is and also show the OFT that their failure to deal with this issue will leave many in poverty, both over the festive period and throughout the year to come. Meet the CAG team and come join the Christmas party in a local pub that evening!

Return Of The Car

Don't get your hopes up boys and girls.
8 months and 14 days so far.
Yes my car was returned today by the insurance company Not fixed.
They wanted to charge me storage can you believe.
The Story well almost 9 months ago my car was involved in an accident.
Some driver drove into my cousin driving as he was parking.
According to the Garage the damage to the body work alone will cost £1800 to fix.
Norwich Union will not pay out the claim as it's a third party claim and the guy won't admit Liability for the accident.
So I'm am out of pocket 9 payments so far to the car.
Thank god I only have a few months left to pay.
My cousin is out of pocket by phoning Norwich Union Daily!
My advice to any one Never let anyone else drive your car unless they are a named driver on your policy and Do not use Norwich Union.

Feel Like Shit

I'm bloody stuffed with the cold feeling really rotten.
Sore head, runny nose, blocked up, coughing and all round tired.
Lemsip max is not doing the trick.

Odd Tunes

For some reason I ran around all day yesterday whistling the theme tune to "The Antiques Roadshow".
Now god knows where that came from Haven't seen that in years.
Not gonna post that one thought so don't worry.

Lamb Of God

Here is a little clip of Lamb of god I took on my mobile.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FSXG_u51cJc

The Unholy Alliance

Went to see Slayer last night with Eddie my mate on " The Unholy Alliance" Tour Chapter II.
Unholy My ASS
It was as Unholy as the jeans I was wearing I'm affraid to say, the jeans having a large rip in the right knee and a holy in the left rear pocket.
What a poor night I have to say.
First the tickets said 7:30 doors open.
This however was not the case as we missed the first 2 bands (Thine Eyes Bleed and Children of Bodom) and we arrived at 7:15 grrrr.
Next was "Lamb of God" or should that be Lame Old Dog cause they were fucking awful.
"In Flames" were for me the highlight of the night.
I do like them and they put on a good show.
And so to the headliner " Slayer"
Now when I was just a lad about 17 or 18 this band were up and coming with classic Thrash albums like "Reign in Blood" and "South Of heaven"
I have to say though their next move should be Retire South of Devon
It's a poor show when the suppore has a better sound setup than the main band of the night.
The sound was terrible you couldn't hear the vocals at all not how I would have expect to see a long time Major Band.
Now logistics Glasgow SECC, shit venue expensive too.
Tickets cost face value £27.50 collected at the office on arrival.
Total cost £32.50 including booking fee and creditcard charge.
Is it free parking?
Is it Fuck !
£3.50 for parking
Beer 2 pints of shitty Carling black label poured from a can £5.50
Rip off that place I can tell you.
That and the cost of fuel to Glagow.
1 expensive shit night

Slow Boat Home

For once I was in no major rush to get home from Aberdeen so I took a slow route back dilly dallying along taking pics as I went took almost 4 hours to get back.
Normally an hour and 45 mins.
Should update my pics site soon cause I have a load of stuff to share.

Birthday Treats

Well I'm back having been up to Aberdeen for a birthday pampering and a half.
Was well fed, showered with gifts.
Had my feet pampered ( God this woman must really love me) :-D
Yes it was my birthday on Wednesday 1st November.
You know, you remember the poem.
Remember,Remember the 1st of November. LOL
Had a nice lunch at Henry's Bar in Aberdeen.
I got a Monster Burger an I do mean Monster!
2 quarter pound burgers lots of cheese mushrooms onion rings tomatos and onions and lettuce.
God it was tasty.
Then I went for a walk round St Nicholas Kirk yard for some pics and then to the Marshall college museum, Now that was a place to visit well word the free entry fee if your ever in Aberdeen.
Later we went to One for Ten pin Bowling having picked up Stewart from school.
Think they let me win cause it was my brithday though.
Saying that Stewart did seem a little distracted could have been the bunch of girls that came in.
They did have cool shoes thoug I have to admit with like rollers in the heels so as the ran along and stopped they just rolled on lol.
Tea was A lovely Chinese meal with Toffee Pineapple chunks to finish MMMMMMMMMM.
