Drink

Been off the drink for 2 weeks now.
Last beer I had was at the Sheffield gig.
Can't say I feel any better for not drinking.
Oh and I don't think I have lost any weight because I'm off it either.

Bloody Mp3s

Been on my pc all day from 9 till 5:30 with the odd pee stop.
And I'm on it again trying to finish sorting my mp3s
I'm sitting at M in the alphabet at the moment using Windows Media Info to name title and picture my files so they can go onto the mp3 player.
Still need to remove about 10gb of music to fit it in though.

Birth Of The Giggle Place

Just to let you know Chris has put the next chapter of Birth of the Giggle Place on his blog.
This will probably be the last for a while as the rest ain't exactly written yet.
I haven't read chapter 4 myself yet that will be this evenings reading.

Harder Faster

Just been out on the bike with my new handlebar mount thank god it arrived my knees were getting sore with that thing bumping off them.
Short trip today 5.17 miles in 25.30 mins.
Hit my fastest speed this so far this year @ 22.6mph and an average 12.0 mph.
Did part of my normal route backwards this time and it kinda shows that the route I normally take has a load more hills on the up.
Nice night for it too, even went out in me shorts :-s
Might get a bit of sun on me body this year ;-)

Deepest Sympathy

My deepest sympathies go out to Janet from work, who lost her mother to cancer last night.
I don't know how she could be feeling just now with it being less than a year since her son Mark died and then the death of her brother in law.
Life can be so cruel sometimes.
All my love Janet.

How You Feeling

Been off the drink for a week now.
Not finding it a struggle at all althought i could murder a pint right now.
I'm not saying I'm off the beer for good, but at the moment my mental health is more important than a beer.
The pills hmmmmm I gotta say I'm not sure are they doing something or am I just burned out emotionally.
I feel empty at the moment I don't get angry, don't get sad, don't get happy nothing.
Did I just cry it all out at the weekend.
Feel tired and drained all the time and I haven't really done anything all week.
Back to work take my mind off it see what happens.
Thank god For good friends woh have been there for me this week.
You know who you are.

Max

Watched a rather good movie last night called Max.
It starred my favorite actor John Cusack.
He plays a German art dealer in post WWI Germany, who lost his arm in the war.
He meets a young corporal in the German army with a passion and talent for art and Politics.
Encouraging the young artist to bring out his own emotion to his art leads the young Adolf Hitler to the "New Art" politics.

Chapter 2

WOW chapter 2 of Birth of the Giggle Place is now at Chris' Blog.

See good looks do run in the family.
Was great speaking to you Toe, hope yer not gonna hide away for ages speak to you soon.

Out on the Bike Again

Well it took me to Friday to get myself sorted out and back into gear.
Got up about 12 today and felt shitty but thought hey lets get it together and go out clear your head on the bike.
Had a good run too 9.23 miles top speed 19.1mph took 49 min 29 seconds
average 11.2mph.
Needs to get quicker though.
Went through the pain barrier about 7 miles and the legs gave out about 8.5 miles having almost been knocked off by a lorry at the round about.
Was good to feel the sun on my face as well.
Used the mp3 player with the setlist from the Bob Catley tour as a playlist for the trip.
Really good for getting the blood pumping.
Took the camera as I always do but bloody batteries were dead grrrrrr.
At least I got out one day on me holidays will try for tomorrow and Sunday.

The Dark Days !

Here is a poem written by my mate Chris Carson.
Thanks for your help and chats this last few weeks mate.
This poem explains how Chris feels with his depression.
And I now understand everything he is going through.

THE DARK DAYS!

Who would have thought that a laugh with a friend,
Could result in depression, and a premature end.

Laughing and joking to me was a lie,
Because deep down inside I just wanted to cry.

Everyone saw me with a smile on my face,
Happiness however was far from the case.

They think that I’m happy; they think that I’m strong,
But why can’t they notice when something is wrong?

In my mirrored reflection I look such a sight,
With booze in my left hand,
And pills in my right.

My life is a mess, when I’ve so much to give.
I don’t want to die, I just want to live!

Misery is the life I lead; yet happiness is what I pretend,
But life is just a storyboard, with a start, a middle, and an end.

Lost

With season 2 of Lost starting soon I thought I best see the final 3 episodes.
Having somehow managing to avoid someone telling me what had happened for some months.
I gotta say hmmmmmmmmmmmm interesting but then again it leaves it wide open for another series LOL.
Can't wait for the next batch.

F.I.N.E.

Thanks to Aerosmith for the title of this blog .
Fucked Up, Insecure, Neurotic and Emotional.
Been to see the doctor today.
He has put me on anti-depressants, about 8 weeks worth of tablets and back to see him in a few weeks.
According to his notes I'm Neurotic:A person prone to excessive anxiety and emotional upset.
A loon basically.

Hawk

How cool is this I was playing a my guitar last night and looking out the window when I spotted this little fella in the bushes out back.
Not often you would see a hawk this close.
Lucky I had me camera close at hand.

Live

Bugger Uk release has been put back to the 10th of May for the new Live album.
More bloody waiting.

Ohhh ECK!

Well it's official now folks it really does make you go blind ;-)
Been for my eye test today and I am officially short sighted.
Gotta start saving now.
Fuck me these bad boys are expensive and the only pair that seemed to suit me were a nice set of Ray Bans with a cool set of clip on shades.
£99 frames and £75 quid for the lenses which are Scrath resistant.
Only need to wear them part time for now, driving and watching telly.
Once again I have to say well done to the Scottish Government.
Free eye tests in Scotland as of the 9th April.

Ringing

Ears are still ringing after Saturday anyone got a cure LOL.

Weekend Travels

Many thanks to Malcolm for a lend of the Garmin street pilot to get me down the road the other day although you really should download the updates.
Got confused a few times.
Got into Hagley and on a round about was told to take the 4th exit and there wasn't a 4th exit.
and then on the way home it was telling me to take an exit off the motorway that didn't even exist LOL.
However I can see me getting one of these things very soon.

Misdemeanours

Thanks to Vince for a copy of his new album "Misdemeanours" by Alibi
I'm sure Clare and Ian will agree with me this is a bloody good album.
Can't wait for the full release.

WOW

Wow what a gig.
Just been to the best Bob Catley gig I have ever been to.
Bloody fantastic through and through.
He did a very Intense version of Scream and a really cool version of Days of No Trust(acoustic).
It all really made it worth while missing last nights gig as I did.
Sorry to all those who were worried about me.
Just got a little carried away.
Anyway got me set list from the gig tonight and managed not to embarass myself tonight.
Even managed to stay sober.
Just need to sort out this ringing in me ears now.

Friendship

Met up with Womble and her new man Spike.
Womble has dyed her hair jet black along with her ears LOL.
Its a good look Hun.
Spike really nice bloke, good to meet you.
Quiet chap but then again Womble can talk for England anyway Hehehe.
I wish you both a loads of happiness and remember to keep in touch.
I gave Womble a little gift, well 2 actually.
A rune stone with the symbols for a gift of friendship.
And a rosequartz crystal.
Hope it brings the successes in life you deserve.

Stourbridge

How did it go I hear you ask.
Didn't really got so pissed and then upset that I had to leave and missed the gig.
Saw about the first 20 mins of Lost Weekend.
They were on good form last night from what I could see.
Sat here in Ian and Claire's waiting for the next gig in Sheffield.
This one I do plan to see.
Just had pizza and ready to go. Almost.

A Fond Farewell

I forgot to mention that Dixons have now changed their name to Currys Digital.
This is a little saddening for me having worked most of my working life in Dixons, so I'm sad to see it go.
To the guys and girls I know work in these stores
WELCOME TO CURRYS.
:-)
HE HE

Broadband. Free?

Well it's all that's being talked about at work today folks.
Up to 8meg broadband for FREE from the Car-phone warehouse.
Sounds good, looks good definitely needs more research.
Ok after a little research we can't get it in Kinross cause the exchange is controlled by BT.
Anyone reading this please check on the link weather this is the same in their area.
Still £10 for broadband is still a fantastic price.

Songs From Black Mountain

Bloody cd shops went round perth yesterday trying to find the Live album which was released on Monday but as usual no-one has got it.
Managed to get it ordered from Hmv though and should be here by this weekend.
Hopefully before I leave on Friday Morning so I can listen to it on me way to Stourbridge.

2 days And Counting

Yes folks 2 days and counting and I'm off for a week and a bit.
Then it's 2 days of gig seeing Bob Catley.
Then the rest of the week who knows ain't thought that far ahead.
Although I gotta go to the Doctors and Opticians.
Looks like I could be going blind. :-(

Tuesday, April 11, 2006

Bad Day

Had a real bad day today started by not wanting to drag myself out of bed.
Then Driving to work listening to Bob Catley set me off.
Wish I could just sort me head out just now.
Hope is they don't play "Last Snows Of Winter" this weekend at the gigs.

Dwarfing

Still watching onto season III now possibly the best season so far.
Although you can't forget the classics from the first season, The End and Future Echoes,
or Kryten, Stasis Leak and Queeg from season II.
God I love Red Dwarf.
"They're all dead Dave, everybodys dead Dave, Dave everybodys dead every bodys dead Dave."
Classic Line.
Not to forget the cats little song.
"I'm gonna eat you little fishy"

Weight

What can I say cut back on food exercise more, eat rabbit food for a week.
I loose half a fucking pound.
I loose more having a good shit each day.
Ah well its going in the right direction.
Need to see what happens after a week of drunken debauchery this weekend and then a weeks holiday off work. I can feel the arteries hardening already.

Utter Madness

You gotta know when to stop bidding on ebay and not get over charged.
I have been looking for a handlebar mount for my Gps for a few weeks.
On the maufacturers website it's $12.95 and $8 to post worldwide.
Hmmm I thinks, ebay, finds one puts in first bid and 1 day 3 mins to go 99p max bid £5 p&p £2.50
Should be safe enought winning at £5 no-one can be daft enough to buy it for more than than.
Wrong
Someone pays £25 plus the p&p for it.
What A fucking Mug.

Home Brew The Tasting

Ok tasting the fruits of my labour (or actually the bloody long wait)
And how is it I here you ask?
Well It looks like pee, tastes like pee but Holy Moly it's fucking strong.
I have had about a pint and a half now but I could feel the effect after only a pint :-)
Bottled Up some for the 2nd fermentation process.
For this you add half a teaspoon of sugar and leave for a few days.
More waiting but it should taste better.
It's definitely a wife beater.

Save A Life

Please Read This Carefully.

"During a BBQ a friend stumbled and took a little fall - she assured everyone that she was fine (they offered to call paramedics) and just tripped over a brick because of her new shoes. They got her cleaned up and got her a new plate of food - while she appeared a bit shaken up, she went about enjoying herself the rest of the afternoon. Her husband called later that evening telling everyone that his wife had been taken to the hospital. At 6.00 pm, she passed away. She had suffered a stroke at the BBQ - had those who were there known how to identify the signs of a stroke perhaps she would be with us today.

A neurologist says that if he can get to a stroke victim within 3 hours he can totally reverse the effects of a stroke.totally. He said the trick was getting a stroke recognised, diagnosed and getting to the patient within 3 hours which is tough.

RECOGNISING A STROKE

Remember the "3" steps. Read and Learn!

Sometimes symptoms of a stroke are difficult to identify. Unfortunately, the lack of awareness spells disaster. The stroke victim may suffer brain damage when people nearby fail to recognise the symptoms of a stroke. Now doctors say a bystander can recognise a stroke by asking three simple questions:

1.. Ask the individual to SMILE.
2.. Ask him or her to RAISE BOTH ARMS.
3.. Ask the person to SPEAK A SIMPLE SENTENCE (coherently)

If he or she has trouble with any of these tasks, call 999 immediately and describe the symptoms to the dispatcher.

After discovering that a group of non-medical volunteers could identify facial weakness, arm weakness and speech problems, researchers urged the general public to learn the three questions. They presented their conclusions at the British Stroke Association's annual meeting last February. Widespread use of this test could result in prompt diagnosis and treatment of the stroke and prevent brain damage.

A cardiologist says if everyone who gets this email sends it to 10 people; you can bet that at least one life will be saved.

BE A FRIEND AND SHARE THIS ARTICLE WITH AS MANY FRIENDS AS POSSIBLE, you could save their lives."

It Could even save you folks.

The Grand National

Many Congratulations to Numbersixvalverde for winning the Grand National.

Recorded a song, on me webcam, I wrote recently and sent it as a peace offering to someone special to me.
It's not finished but the most is there.
Depression is a weird and wonderful thing, affecting all your ups an downs in life.
Ya just gotta know when to fight back.

Pics From Todays Ride

Close Call

Almost forgot about this.
Yesterday while on me lunch I went to Morrison's for me salad.
On the way back I was crossing the road at the lights outside the shop (lights being at green for pedestrans to cross)
I was 2 paces onto the road when I hear the screach of tyres and I stopped dead in me tracks.
The car halted about halfway through the crossing about 2 feet in front of me.
PHEW! and FUCKING HELL were my first thoughts.
Someone or something's looking out for me. :-)

Perth

Was out in Perth Saturday night with me Bro and Hazel, got mega rat-arsed didn't spew though so things are looking up although it was a close call in the taxi on the way home. Motion sickness ;-)
Went into Christies pub the Sandemans then the Foundry and finishing in Sportsters.
Wall the pubs were hoaching really busy but the really weird thing was the lack of smoke bloody fantastic. I remember the first time I went into Christies you had to cut your way through the smoke but now you can see clearly and breath fully.
Thanks to Hazel for the Tarrot reading at the end of the night but I can't remember a bloody word was too pissed :-)

Reclaiming Bank Charges

The statements came through the post today so I got a load of work to do asap.
Have only checked my accounts from Feb to August 2000 and its a cool £1000 so far in bounced Direct debit charges.
Fees ranging from £30 to £90
Anyone who knows me will know I was in a lot of touble financially for a few years and there's the reason in 7 months I lost all that to the bank.
Although it has settled down recently can you imagine what 6 years of charges could amount to.

Magnum

Hazel really has become a true Magnum fan having bought her first 2 cd collection :-)
Convert them one at a time folks it's the best way.
Got into her car last night and who was on the cd player?
Magnum.
The Last Goodbye.

Pub

Went to the pub last night first time in ages.
It was bloody fantastic NO SMOKE.
Woke up this morning room did'nt stick of smoke, could breath properly, didn't have that smokey aftertaste in my mouth.
Also managed to drink more than I have done in ages no hangover, no sick Andy would be proud.
Wasn't too pissed either see smoke has a lot to answer for.
Tonight will be the test 3rd night on the drink and im out earlier than before.
Expect a hangover tomorrow.

Scotlands No Smoking

Congratulations Anne.
Anne at work has been off the Fags for 6 days now.
It gets easier from here on in believe me.
