Elcho Castle

Took Elaine to see Elcho castle on Saturday wasnt the best of days weather wise but we had a picnic in the gardens then had a walk round the castle.
Elaine got a very strange feeling in the castle and had to rush out.
She explained that she could smell smoke part of the castle and felt strange.
Can't say I had smelled any smoke but who knows.
Got a few good pics as usual.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY

Meet The Parents

On Saturday I finally had a visit from Elaine down to Kinross to meet my folks.
It all went really well.
As usual my Mum was very quiet and Elaine being all het up with nerves was quiet too so it seemed that my Dad and I did most of the talking that night.
Mum cooked a really nice meal of red devil pork yummy.
All went well and I think my parents liked Elaine which is all the better.

Cool Revived Sports

It's good to see Jousting has come back as a sport although not on horseback.

Toys

My new toys came in the post today :-)
An adaptor to fit to my camera to use older Olympus OM lenses from their 35mm range and A nice marco lens OM fit second hand but hey I'm not gonna complain for a fiver considering the proper macro lens for my camera is £165 I'm happy.
Plus sides well it means now I can Snap fine detail shots at about 3 inches away for cool detail.
Down sides the adaptor does not do any of the auto functions of the digital camera working out aperture or depth of field of even auto focus lol.
Still now I know the ins and outs of the adaptor me thiks Om lenses on ebay will be going like hotcakes lol.

Back again

Hey all I'm back again.
Having been in Northern Ireland for a week for the funeral and then having my broadband off for a week while we changed from BT to Talk Talk.
Thanks for the Many Sympathy messages I received and the many cards sent to the whole family over the last few weeks.
Things should start to get back to a little more normal service now.

Footy

Was gonna Say a big well done to Scotland for beating France in the European Cup qualifiers but they lost last night to the Ukrane so they cant have too much glory.
But to say they beat the World number 1 team is a great result.
Also big well done to my team Northern Ireland who won last night against Latvia hope its the start of a good run for the boys.

Gigs

Well last weekend Ian Williams and I went to see Y&T at the Cathouse in Glasgow Support from GPS and then on to another gig after to see Forgotten Sons.
GPS made up of 4 members of Asia who are also on tour just now (wierd) with the 4 original members.
Have to say they were good need to get the album.
If you like prog rock I guess you will love this band too.
The keyboard player was wild and very talented.
The sound for them was good although the vocals didnt come out very clear could have gone up a notch.
Y&T what can I say a band from my youth I have all their albums pre splitup but no new stuff not that it mattered cause it was a classic night with all the old favourites like barroom boogie, forever, summertime girls, open fire and loads more only a shame it had to end early god I hate the Glasgow Curfew.
The sound for Y&T I do have to say sucked and something was out most of the gig a good few missed beats by the drummer however all in all a great gig just cause I love em and it was great to hear the classics again although there was a few missing from the set.
Forgotten Sons ( Marillion Tribute band) wow gotta say these guys were good and loud.
If your a fan of early Marillion with Fish then these guys are your cup of tea.
Probably the best Marillion tribute band around the even do 1 or 2 newer tunes featuring Steve Hogarths vocals have to say the singer suits his vocal style more.
I left this gig with my ears buzzing which was not the case from the Y&T gig so I can always tell a good band when I cant hear right for a few days after.
If you get a chance go see these guys Brilliant!

Before I Forget

Before coming across to Northern Ireland I had a few things to blog sao I best mention before I forget.

Amazing Home Remedies

1. If you are choking on an ice cube, don't panic. Simply pour a cup
of boiling water down your throat and, presto!, the blockage will be
almost instantly removed.
2. Clumsy? Avoid cutting yourself while slicing vegetables by getting
someone else to hold them while you chop away.
3. Avoid arguments with your wife about lifting the toilet seat by
simply using the sink.
4. for high-blood-pressure sufferers: simply cut yourself and bleed
for a few minutes, thus reducing the pressure in your veins. Remember
to use a timer.
5. A mousetrap, placed on top of your alarm clock, will prevent you
from rolling over and going back to sleep after you hit the snooze button.
6. If you have a bad cough, take a large dose of laxatives, then you
will be afraid to cough.
7. Have a bad toothache? Smash your thumb with a hammer and you will
forget all about the toothache.
8. Sometimes, we just need to remember what the rules of life really are:
You only need two tools - WD-40 and Duct Tape. If it doesn't move and
should, use the WD-40; if it shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape.
9. Remember: Everyone seems normal until you get to know them.
10. Never pass up an opportunity to go to the bathroom.
Thoughts for the day: If you woke up breathing, congratulations! You
get another chance. Be really nice to your family and friends; you
never know when you might need them to empty your bedpan.
Some people are like slinkies.....they're not really good for
anything; but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them
down a flight of stairs

Back Home

Back home now after a great weekend at Elaine's and Stewart's.
Thanks for a really fun weekend.
Hoodwinked was Brilliant at the Cinema well worth going even if your not with kids lol.
Went to see Stewart play footy at the weekend.
The team got their brand new strips which look really well!
Stewart scored the only goal for his side, even if the coach says it was the keeper goal lol.
Stewart booted the ball so hard the the keeper got it and fell into the goal he he.
We had a nice run into Peterhead a Fraserburgh for the day.
On Sunday as it was wet wet wet we went to ten pin bowling and I finally got to win a game or 2.
Managed to break the 100 points barrier in both games :-)
Shows improvement.
Thanks for a great weekend guys!
Stewart take care of my Simpsons dvds and enjoy watching them!
