Difficult

I realised this last few weeks how hard it can be to eat a little more healthy.
I wanted to cut down on the amount of fizzy juice I drink and try a healthier option.
Fruit juice is the best option you would think and its good for a cold, all those vitamins.
Not Being a tea or coffee drinker then what else is ther but water.
Well it's not that easy you go to a super market you see the fruit juice they are normally on offer 3 litres for £2 or something like that.
Water well you can get sparkling water to add to this for about 89p for a 2 litre bottle.
Mix the two together and you can have a healthier option for a fizzy drink, great idea.
Ok now weigh the cost up with the unhealthy option Barrs are doing an offer on 2 litre pre priced bottles of lemonade for 59p a good brand lemonade.
The super markets all offer drinks on a week to week basis much much cheaper than fruit juice.
I guess that if you are on the bread line then it's gonna be a real hard option to get healthy.

Relaxed

Well I have to say that I am feeling much better now my meds seem sorted looking forward to getting back to work on Monday.
This you may say yeah yeah but it's true.
Having been couped up for almost 3 weeks looking at 4 walls I am going nuts.
Mostly I have slept and when I haven't been sleeping I have been just watching DVDs and relaxing watched the whole series of Firefly which was a really cool sci-fi series sorry it ended so soon.
Also started watching Kingdom Hospital .
Now somehow I managed to miss these two programmes when they were on oh well I have seen them now.

T In The Park

Well the tickets went on sale for T In The Park yesterday and it's another sellout.
Not surprising really went down the street today and at 1:30 they were still queuing at Sand's.
Can't say I am really bothered this year again, only one band I would really like to see and that's the Goo Goo Dolls still I can catch them again if I don't end up going.
One thing that has pissed me off though was the mess left by the folk queuing outside Sand's it was like rubbish lorry had been dumped on the street a bloody disgrace.
Please folks if you are coming to T In The Park Remember to bin it please.

Back At Home

Well I finally had to come home from Aberdeen still off work though.
Had to go to court as a witness yesterday which was a total waste of time as the party pled guilty after us being there over 2 hours.
There needs to be something the courts can do about all this crap.
Been at the doctors today and she has given me more meds including a preventative inhaler for asthma, looks like it's back with a vengence.
I have been signed off for nother few day and to return to the doctors early next week if I'm not any better. Still I don't plan to use the line hope to be better by Monday, only time will tell.

I'm In Ranting Mood Sorry!

Ok so I read about how it is illegal to download music from the internet and how the music business looses money by people not buying cds or paying for downloads etc.I have been reading http://www.bpi.co.uk/piracy/content_file_310.shtml
So I have been reading a while so a few questions need to be posed.
1/ I can presume that if no-one downloaded or bought cds who uses filesharing stopped buying any music for say, a month, how much would the industry loose in that month?
2/It's now mid feb and I have bought 5 albums this year so far not to mention buying second had tapes and records and converting them myself to mp3 and cd backup and also improving the quality by removing clicks pops and hiss ( approx 20 tapes and about 4 albums). How many people have bought that amount of 1s so far this year that don't download?
3/ As Sony are one of the big names in the music industry and also invent/develop and mass produce equipment and software to record copies of thier own licenced music can I sue them for providing me with the equipment to record or any other manufacturer including Microsoft, Phillips, panasonic, jvc, apple etc? Why put it out there now you know people will use it against you?after all they have done since you have been able to record onto tape since the 70's. Sony want their cake and eat it I think.
4/ How many bands do you know? Can you personally afford to buy every album that is released? Doubt it! Even buying at second hand shops and charity shops for 50 pence each I need to restrict my purchases.
5/ What if we only went to Live music shows so only the artists get the money for playing their music? Ok that brings another problem with most venues charging a rip off booking fee and credit card charges.
6/ Would you buy any music from a company who sues its own customers? That good customer service.
7/ Am I ranting too much
Tell me what you think maybe we can start by having a no buy no download day/week month whatever we can publicise it spread the word throught the power of blogs and websites tv and radio if you think it would work.

Peak Flow

Well I'm still off ill.

Been doing a little research while I have been off using a peak flow meter to measure my breathing 4 times per day.

Don't know what that is???

Well a peak flow meter is basically a tube with a measurement indicator on it which you blow into to find out your lung capacity.

Now, my readings have been very erratic over the last few days anywhere from about 420 to 500 litres per minute.

So how this shapes up......

Well, as you can see not so good I have the average lung capacity of a girls aged 20 height approx 5'.

A male my height and age should have a flow of around 600-650 litres per min.

The meds do seem to be working I would have to admit, well a little anyway they do make me have mega indigestion and I have been sick because of this.

That's not the worst thing about all this though the worse is I'm bloody bored. Can't do much cause I can't go out, the chill in the air just makes me cough and wheeze and day time telly is SO boring.

The Verdict

Watched this last night I have to say this is going to be interesting watching.
Kept Elaine and I gripped for the evening definately on to watch.

Top Gear

Don't know if anyone watched top gear last night but you should watch the repeat later in the week.
They are set a challenge to cross America buy buying a car cheaper than they can rent one for $1000.
Really funny, especially the stint through Alabama state.

Sick

Well I'm off work for a few days had to go to the out of hours surgery on Sunday afternoon.
Doctor put me on a nebulizer and confirmed I have a chest infection.
So I have been told to take a few days to rest and try to recover and gave me some antibiotics and a Ventolin inhaler something I haven't used regularly in 20 years.

Good Luck

Rab is moving down to Norwich for 6 months 2day with his job.
Good Luck and I hope it all goes well for you bro.

Health Matters

Well it's just typical I go off on holiday and get ill.
Chocked up with this bug that is going around at the moment.
Spent loads of time sleeping on the couch so far.
Not missing much though it's been cold with a little snow here too.
But I did go out Monday and take some nice shots of the beach in the snow I'll put them up soon.
The real reason I'm doing health matters is just as a warning.
Don't buy any medicine without checking the instructions first.
As normal for a cold I went out and bought Lemsips thinking they have never affected me in any way but good before.
WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
On finally reading the leaflet I discovered why I had been Vomiting.
You can't take them with Anti-depressants or if you suffer from any stomach problems peptic ulcers and the like.....
"may cause nausea and vomiting"
So every one be aware watch what you take.
Also when I went to the chemist today I found they were doing free testing on Diabetes, blood pressure and cholesterol levels.
so I thought why not.
So my blood suger is fine no sign of diabetes.
Cholesterol levels are fine at current levels however the government are planning to reduce levels very soon which will put me in the low to mid risk level.
As for the blood pressure well its higher than it should be.
All this means is I need more exercise and less stress.
Tell me something I really don't know lol.

Pc Blues

My own PC and packed in of course recently exactly 12 months and 29 days after I bought it.
The Dvd-r/rw has packed up thank god I have a spare from my old machine but what a bugger.
It never fails I have to admit I'm a big believer in extended warranties yet as I though hey I can fix it for less I wont do it this time.
Last time I did this on a major purchase my old Sony Vcr it only lasted 13 months to the day too.
Ah well I will remember this the next time thats for sure.

Holidays

Yes It's that time of year again when i get a little R and R.
Have come up to Aberdeen to be with Elaine and Stewart this week hoping that we will get away at least for one night this weekend.
Started the Holidays on an approach to moving as well by bringing up my Stereo and a few little bits and pieces.
Been setting it up all afternoon then I a fixed up Elaine's PC Mic and linked the hifi in and just been recording The Black Crowes off cassette (SouthernHarmony And Musical Companion)
Fantastic to hear this album.
Then I hunted Elaine's tape collection and found some great albums to listen to and convert to mp3 on her machine! Well it gives me dsomething to do while I'm here on my own!
